OJL – Stands for On the Job Learning
- The US Department of Labor, Office of Apprenticeship, has changed the name of what was formerly OJT (On the Job Training)
- The online form makes it easier than ever to fill out and submit your OJL hours.
- Categories have been changed and added to make it easier for an apprentice to log the hours worked
- It is not necessary, or desired, for an apprentice to log hours in all categories – Only use the categories applicable to the work functions you performed.
- The form should reflect what you actually do while on the job.
- Totals are generated automatically without action by the user.
- Supervisors can approve the hours with one click.
- The approved form goes immediately to payroll.
- Now much easier to comply with DOL requirements to document OJL hours.
Key things to remember:
- Enter a valid email address for yourself.
- If you fail to enter a valid email address for yourself then you will not receive a confirmation that your submission was received and sent to your supervisor.
- Make sure that you enter a valid email address for your supervisor.
- If you fail to enter a valid email address for your supervisor but did enter a valid email for yourself - you will receive an email stating that your form could not be submitted and you will be required to re-submit the form.
- Note that some months require entries for 4 weeks and some months require 5 weeks
- You will receive confirmations, at the email address you provided, when the form submission has been sent to your supervisor and when your supervisor has approved, or rejected, the submission.
